'Day of Reckoning' - DAZN PPV - Fight By Fight Thread

An unprecedented line-up on a single night of boxing in Saudi Arabia, the ‘Day of Reckoning’ sees former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua face top contender Otto Wallin, former WBO world champion Joseph Parker takes on the Bronze Bomber and former WBC world titleholder, Deontay Wilder, with IBF No.1 contender Filip Hrgovic fighting Mark De Mori in another heavyweight shootout. Also on the unmissable card, undefeated WBA light heavyweight world champion Bivol defends his belt against Manchester's Lyndon Arthur, while cruiserweight king Jai Opetaia meets Bromley's Ellis Zorro, Daniel Dubois collides with Jarrell Miller in a crossroads heavyweight scrap.

And, heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov faces Agit Kabayel and heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez takes on Junior Fa.

      Heavyweights weigh in happening now.

Kabayel looks calm in the face-off against Makhmudov (262 lbs).
I wouldn't so relaxed!? Russian dude looks like Zangief from Street Fighter.

Miller (333lbs) comes in almost 100 lbs heavier than Dubois (239 lbs).
Miller mouthy as always. Pushing DDD in the face-off. Should be easy work for DDD though.

Parker 245 lbs against Wilder 213 lbs. Both looked good.
This could be intriguing. There's some WBC trinket on the line it seems.

Wallin 239 lbs vs Joshua 251 lbs.
AJ looked focused. I think Otto will have a bad night tomorrow.

Only "Decent" ? I mean... Makhmudov, Sanchez, Hrgovic, are on the "undercard" ... That whole night is loaded to the brinks and nowhere else than SA could host that...

So 11am NYC time. I think that's 8am for West coast.

But look at who they are fighting for opposition. Bivol vs Arthur? Who is Arthur? Frank Sanchez vs. Junior Fa...Arslanbek Makhmudov vs. Agit Kabayel ( Makhmudov is a -1000 favorite)...Filip Hrgovic vs. Mark De Mori (No. 371 heavyweight in the world). Big names against poor opposition...not very intriguing matchups. Hence my comment about decent...you know what's going to happen....so.

I said it's "loaded", not "thrilling" ... The matchmaking is ."OK'ish" for most fights... Only Hrgovic/De Mori is out of this world ... And Makhmudov is at a stage of his career where no one really wants to try him (high risk, low rewards)... Come On ! Makhmudov/Hrgovic next !!!!

And I said it's decent...nothing more. De Mori is ranked 371 heavyweight in the world...I can't get excited.

Man what a ****er way to end the year.

The lighter weight classes Ramirez vs Espinoza, Rodriguez vs Edwards and Inoue vs Tapales delivering high skilled and action packed fights.

Along with a battle royal of the heavier weight classes that will define the heavyweight division for the year to come in a single card:

                  Frank Sanchez vs Junior Fa
                  Makhmudov vs Kabayel (23-0)
Filip Hrgovic vs Mark de Mori (41-2-2)
                  Daniel Dubois vs Jarrell Miller
                  Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker
                  Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin

With the winners of Wilder/Parker and Joshua/Wallin fighting each other.

Fury vs Usyk is coming up in two months aswell (February 17, 2024)

(Along with highly skilled and entertaining fighters in Dmitry Bivol and Jai Opetaia against undefeated or nearly undefeated fighters.)

They're all fighting tuneups though. Bivol too lol.

You could pick Mak, Jai, Sanchez, Hrgoic and Bivol in a Parlay and still be -500 odds
