Alycia Baumgardner Still Not Stripped of Titles - No Drug Testing in Boxing

There is no real drug testing in boxing.

It's been four months since everyone was informed that Baumgardner had failed a drug test on July 12 before her fight with Linardatou. The B-sample hasn't been tested. Not one of the five sanctioning bodies has stripped her of her titles.

Michigan's commission told Lou Dibella, Linardatou's promoter, to file a Freedom of Information Act if he wanted information. Translation: **** off. They're not going to strip Baumgardner and let the opponent she cheated against fight for the titles because Matchroom is bringing in big money to the orgs while DiBella doesn't even have a TV deal.

This is why I say there is no drug testing in boxing - there is testing, but it's there to protect the A-side fighter from having to face the B-side if the B-side is cheating. Like Jerell Miller against Joshua. But if the fighter that pops is the money-maker.... be it Oscar Valdez, Dillion Whyte, Tyson Fury, Connor Benn, Canelo.... then they will find a way to make it go away. And they do.

Let me ask a question: when was the last time a big name, big draw, PPV fighter failed a drug test, was stripped of his titles, and was suspended for six+ months?

The answer is never. The closest I remember this happening was Lamont Peterson, and he both wasn't a draw and got to keep one of his titles. And not long after, GBP stopped working with the testing agency (was it WADA?) because they were mad they weren't being informed of their guys failing drugs tests on the low so they could run damage control. Canelo failed a test and wasn't suspended until another A-side fighter called out the NSAC in an interview, and so they gave him a backdated suspension and basically asked Canelo to move his fight date out three months so it would take the heat off them.

So do all the big name PPV stars all fight clean, and it's just the opponents and guys who aren't big draws using steroids? Or is this **** all a f_ucking joke?

Yep. Same thing as Benn - demand an investigation, stall stall stall, eventually 6-12 months goes by and then be like "They botched the investigation. I did not cheat but I've more than served my time out of the ring." Threaten to sue like Fury did, etc. State commissions, especially in smaller states, don't want the headache.

athlete pops dirty, expresses confusion denial then outrage then defiance, demands investigation into the testing authorities & procedures, threatens to sue anyone and everyone, leading to some awkward stalemate until 'something' gives somewhere, lol, what a farce it can be, what about u pop, u get suspended and banned until u prove how it got there, demand b sample is tested, oh wait whats the point thats dirty as well

There is testing mostly only after the fight is over. Fighters are asked to put some of their piss on a bottle, then the result is announced weeks later. Fight is already done, someone is in the hospital, what's the point?

I always thought testing is about protecting the PED-less opponent and stop fights from happening when positive tests are found. Yet in all of the recent violations, fights were not stopped, except the Conor Benn case, which was scrapped on the eve of the fight.
