  • Comments Thread For: Robeisy Ramirez: I Thought I Had Fight Won; I Have To Give [Espinoza] Credit, He Came Back And Knocked Me Down

Robeisy Ramirez hopes to have the chance to run it back. Until then, he will have to live with the knowledge that he let this one slip away. The double Olympic Gold medalist saw his WBO featherweight title reign come to an end in a majority decision defeat to

Stylistically, the rematch would likely go the same way. Espinoza isn’t likely to hurt his leg again or to get caught with the same punch that hurt him in the 5th.

Robeisy would need to come up with a different game plan or new wrinkles to win.

I do think Ramirez underestimated him though. I think he could definitely make some adjustments and avoid being in range so much. Whether it’s enough to reverse a the result, I’m not sure.

I’d like to see the rematch tbf, think it’s a 50/50 fight.

It’s hard because Espinoza is so long, so whether Robeisy stays outside or inside he is almost always in range, I don’t know how good of a training camp Robeisy had or if there were any outside of the ring distractions leading up to Saturday’s fight that. But besides technical adjustments he could also look at improving his conditioning now that he knows what he’s in for.

Outside of the rematch, though, I also like the idea of an all-Mexican ****er of a unification between Espinoza and Venado Lopez which has been talked about.

Yeah he gassed pretty quickly, he was loading up too much which didn’t help.

Yeah that would be a great fight, I also think Espinoza vs Joet Gonzalez would be a really fun fight too.

Unless it was a delayed reaction, seems to me based on what I saw that you took a knee as opposed to being a knockdown. Still counts the same but it’s not the same.

He got hurt because he fall like a sack of potatoes. The bell save him, 15 seconds more and the fight would have been over. Why not talk about those two guys giving all they have. If is a second fight is not going to be the same, mark my words.

That’s wishful thinking on his part, he got pummeled.

Robeisy Ramirez I hate to be the one to say it, but it shoud have been a unanimous decision easy, the kid landed and through way more shots and connected at a 3 to 1 ratio, the judges got this wrong, all wrong! The only thing I can say is you had him hurt badly but didn't follow up, but you lost clean so let that be clear to you and your people.
