Man, I really like Guzman. He's one of my favourite fighters, but they never had a chance to fight until recently when Guzman screwed his chance by messing up the weight and not fighting Campbell. Apart from that they were never in the same division properly with each guy holding major belts and both being the top guys in the division.

You're really stretching now mate. Guzman won his first ever vacant title in 2002 off Oliva in a great fight but he didn't get any recognition as the proper champ until he fought Agapito Sanchez who was actually the real champion. Guzman only got that vacant title shot because Sanchez had to relinquish it for medical reasons at the time so he was still considered the real champion. Guzman then didn't fight anyone until two years later when he got the chance to take on the proper champion in 2004 in his fight with Sanchez. By 2004 though Pacquiao had already moved up to SFW and had his big coming out fights with Barrera and Marquez so he was already well past Guzman at that stage who was still considered just a good prospect. Pac was already fighting the biggest possible fights available though and there was no point in going from Barrera and Marquez back down to Guzman who meant nothing to anyone at that stage and didn't really even come to any good prominence until his 130 pound win in 2006 over Barrios. Pac was already in his trilogy with Morales though.

Guzman only could have gotten that shot around 2004 but Pac was already gone and Guzman was never the top guy before then.

The other thing is, before Guzman beat Sanchez to cement his being the top guy at 122 in 2004, Pac had already beaten the two other main champs at that weight three years previously, well before Guzman was even considered a title threat. Pac was the top guy during 2001 to 2003 when he then moved up to fight the big fights with Barrera. Guzman didn't even become the top guy until 2004 when he had to fight Sanchez for Sanchez' old title to claim his proper right as the champ so your time-line is all off man.

Now, the other big misconception is this: Guzman is from the Dominican Republic right? So, where is the black, African American thing come into it? If that's enough for you to go on then why don't you give him credit for beating Ledwaba and Sanchez? Both of those guys are also black and both of them were slick boxers in the same mold as Guzman.

Come on now your point is frivolous, Floyd fought people around his weight class such as Corrales, Angel, Castillo etc who where white and Latino, and he's beaten people with every style too whether they were a puncher like Chicko, a brawler like Castillo or a slick southpaw like Judah he faced ALL STYLES but you can't say the same about Pac, it's not even about colour it's about a style of boxing that just happens to be used mainly by African Americans, thus far he's ducked it and that's why i'll continue to ask questions whether you *******s like it or not .
