If you're having trouble making weight or need as much opportunity to rehydrate, why fight for the IBF at all?

I agree. I like that they try to set good rules and be strict about them.

But that’s why weasel promoters tend to steer fighters away from them. Which does lead to poor top 10 rankings unfortunately.

When you beat someone to the point they lose their life, you have to be a little leery of the opponent. Matias is no game. That’s a fight you’re going into. For a lot of boxers, this sport is a business where they’re not trying to get hurt. Win or lose, Matias is going to injure you.

Something to consider before signing the contract.

That's what was said on another platform, but I haven't heard when that fight's going to happen.
Last I heard it's being talked about for March or April of 2024, in Puerto Rico.
If it happens in March there's still a chance of him fighting in June at MSG for the PR Parade weekend.
That's what I'm hoping for, one of the top boxing promoters has to get together with Matias' current promoter to propel Matias' career to superstar status!

If they can do Inoue vs. Fulton in Japan, you would think they could do Teofimo Lopez vs. Subriel Matias @ MSG, for the PR Day Parade?

Yes they emphatically can! Subriel 'El Orgullo de Maternillo' Matias, is such a fighting machine that the fan's are guaranteed to get their money's worth every time he fights.
They've have got to get behind this fighting dynamo, because he's one of the most devastating fighters in the sport of boxing.
It's hard to tell how long he'll remain as devastating as he is so far in his career, because he has this all or nothing fighting style, which is brutal.
But as long as he stay's with His current promoter, trainer, corner, and doesn't get to big for his shoe's, I think that he's going to have a historic reign of terror as champion.
