Ah hell, I’d really like to see Ryan Garcia succeed. There’s definitely a disproportionate amount of hate towards him, considering he actually made the damn fight with Tank happen. Does anybody ever think about that? How he actually made a mega-fight happen? How many other mega-fights have we seen over the past 3 years? The ones that really get a buzz and get us all excited? Crawford-Spence, that’s it. Over the next year, we’ll get Fury-Usyk, and I don’t see any other really big fight on the horizon.
With Garcia, the talent is there. The dedication and humility has been missing, but I for one will be routing for him to find it, because he actually IS a p4p level talent and seems like a pretty nice kid.Comment

With Ryan, it might be addition by subtraction.
That guy's delusional

It was a glorified exhibition match.
A quick cash-grab so both could avoid real damage to their reputations.
Ryan gets credit for "daring to be great"
Tank gets to avoid fighting real fighters.Comment

Superstardom is achieved by selling tickets and ppvs mate.

I couldn’t disagree more. No doubt Ryan is a tool, but he’s a top 5 attraction in boxing right now. Very few fighters generate the $$ Ryan does. Boxing is a business at the end of the day. He’s a huge asset to any promotion.Comment

I’m embarrassed for him. Shut up and train and fight at least 3 times a year and prove everyone wrong. The bad blood between Ryan Garcia and Golden Boy apparently still persists. In a recent interview with Brian Custer on The Last Stand Podcast, the native of Victorville, Calif., took issue with some claims made by Bernard Hopkins, one of the key brass at Golden Boy Promotions, ahead of Garcia's upcoming 140-pound fight with Oscar Duarte on Dec. 2 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The fight marks Garcia's debut as a junior welterweight.
