    Thoughts on G-Man

I've been thinking of McClellan today. Is it safe to say that he was the greatest "wasted" talent ever? Or, greatest unfulfilled talent? I wonder why he did what he did, take that Benn fight despite the advices of Manny Steward and his team. Was he crazy? Was he so desperate to prove how great he was?

Why was he crazy for taking the fight? He should have won TKO round 1. he nearly had him out of there and most likely if it wasn't for one of the worst refs ever he would have finished him off before round 2.

Anyways, the punishment he suffered obviously lost him the bout and we don't know if he was brain damaged prior to the fight. Some say the blows he took from Jullian Jackson in their first fight may have led to his ultimate demise and there has been talk of him having headaches and other problems prior to the benn fight. No one will know for certain. We also don't know if Benn's rabbit punching led to the injury also.

Either way, him fighting benn was not "crazy" as benn was very beatable and under different circumstances G-Man would have been victorious.

20 first round ko's in 31 wins...man. The answer is there. Why did Benn beat him? Because G-Man was not used to long fights, long brawls. And he had never fought a guy like Benn before either. He dominated the first round, but lost all the other rounds, except the eight. But that was no real kd.

McClellan was winning the fight until he couldn't continue.

McClellan was P4P one of the hardest punchers at middleweight. If it wasn't for the blood clot or whatever happened to him, he could've done so much more.

Imagine a fight between him and Jones or Hopkins. I think he actually beat Jones in the amateurs.

He seemed perfect, both physically and as a fighter. But his long and narrow skull shape made him vulnerable to hard blows. I've already talked about this.

Watch the first round of that fight and tell me the ref wasn't a complete idiot. He kept breaking them up after Benn was hurt and gave Benn precious time to recovery/survive. It's very likely Benn would have been a first round KO victim if a different ref was in the ring that night

Well all credit to Benn for surviving and fighting his heart out, but clearly there was something wrong with G-Man after the first few rounds, you could see him squinting his eyes, his mouth guard was out of his mouth the entire time....he was hurt (in the head). Further, there is evidence out there that suggests G-Man had brain injures/damage before the fight (see my previous post).

              Ha! Not true.
