lol... Ok the version of Oscar that fought Vargas was not the same version that Floyd fought. Oscar was still close to his prime when he fought Vargas. Oscar was way passed his prime when he fought Floyd. He wasn't even a full time fighter anymore. He was a part time fighter and full time promoter. When he fought Floyd.

I think that Marquez and the Special Mexican Holiday had a lot to do with the PPV. The Stadium itself was more than a quarter empty.

When Mayweather was fighting the Daniel Edwardes and other assorted "selections" he couldn't even half fill a small 4000 seat arena. It really was only with Hatton and Golden Balls that his PPV began to soar. And it could be argued convincingly, that it was Hatton and Oscar who drew the crowds and PPv's. Don't forget, Hatton was getting 12-15,000 British fans to fly over to the U.S. to see their "darling lad"- Their "only one Ricky Hatton".....etc.

There is no point to fight Shane for Floyd.

Floyd has been trying to get a fight with Shane for years and Shane never gave Floyd the time of day. And now the roles are reversed and Floyd is giving Shane the same treatment as payback. If Shane was smart, he would of fought Floyd November of 2006, but instead he had a tooth ache or something. The only reason why Shane wants to fight May is because its a big money fight. IF he didnt have to, he would not want any part of May.

Why fight Shane, a guy you wont get credit for beating anyways, when you can fight the winner of Cotto/Pacquiao and make even more money doing so and probably get more credit. Then perhaps fight Mosley after that.

Mayweather doesn't need Mosley, Mosley needs Mayweather.

This guy had life and death and was getting outboxed by Ricardo Mayorga not too long ago.. Everyone knows Ricardo can't box. Shane wouldn't even stand a chance against Floyd.

Fast fighters give him problems, his defense his bad, he doesn't block punches, he doesn't have great foot work, he closes his eyes when he punches, he is not as fast, he's not a smart boxer period. He's a strong fighter, but not a good technician and he will be beaten.

Cotto would give Floyd more of a fight than Shane would.

I don't understand how the #1 WW is out of the picture? That sounds like fea to me. Pac-Floyd would be a huge event. Both would make money. But, the fight would be at WW. And, the winner will be #2 WW. The only reason to keep Mosley waiting is fear of ruining the mega event and hoping that he gets old.

Shanes was too old, PACMAN is too small, Cotto is damaged goods.

Fact is Shane needs PBF! When PBF needed Shane, Shane went on vacation. PBF vs. SHANE is a fight only real boxing fans like us want to see. PBF vs. PACMAN is a worldwide event. Shane is bad for Business! at this time.
How RIGHT you are! Mosley IS too old and Manny P. is still too small.

Mosley as a lightweight was a devastating fighter, probably at his very best then. And THAT was a long time ago.

As for Cotto, we really won't know how damaged he is, until we see him in adversity. Maybe he has rationalized the situation and told himself that he was beaten with plaster laden gloves, therefore not beaten at all. We just have to wait and see.
