carl froch's prime will be done halfway through the tourny

why? because he takes so many flush punches in fights. and its not like he rolls with the punches, he stands there and takes them flush. and hes going to be fighting world class fighters in this tourny who have power, atleast most of them do. dont be surprised if he goes into a fight and gets blown out inside 3 or 4 rounds a year from now. i mean look at how many big flush shots he has taken in just his last two fights. i noticed in the taylor fight he seemed to show less resilience to the punches than in the pascal fight which tells me his punch resistance is already starting to go. let me know your guys opinions

    Hmm, may be

Fighting such a high standard of opposition so consistently will probably harm everyone in the tourney's long term lastability

I've seen his guard go up somewhat in earlier fights, albeit in a half-hearted way. Perhaps he'll take the hint after a flush, hard shot from the real bad boys (Kessler, Abraham and Taylor again), 'cause there's no way he can expect to win this thing if he's standing in front of world class opposition with his hands down at his thighs. :conf1:

I still need to watch a Dirrell fight, though... Is he any good?

Interesting point of view, but some people like Andrade and Margarito for example have been able to take BIG punches their whole carreer, maybe it'll be the same for Froch. But the interesting perspective in my opinion is the Jermain Taylor - Jean Pascal strength, because to me it seemed like they could be hitting equally hard, but still I got to agree that Froch took the punches better in the first fight.

So what does that teach us? Froch could be on the slide, Taylor could be hitting harder or nothing because no matter what happened he won both fights?

froch said he is working on his defense, and I think he is after taking a lot of shots by taylor.
