160 to 168 is a big jump in weight.

Big 168 pounders like Benav almost are full cruiserweights on fight night.

I respect both fighters. However, if you watched the corner in between rounds, Andrade did not go out on his shield. He asked that the fight be stopped.

Looks like the two best at 168 have nothing to celebrate after a 154, 2 levels up, goes the distance with Canelo. So since Benavidez AND Canelo both don't have recent wins to celebrate shouldn't they just fight each other and cut the BS?

I’ve said this before the fight and after the fight, Andrade showed a while ago that he was about Vanes Martirosyan level. That fight could’ve gone either way. That’s the level of fighter he is. He was even dropped in that SD win and one judge gave it to Vanes.

The difference between him and Vanes was that Vanes went on to fight better, tougher fighters. So he didn’t have the luxury of keeping his 0 by avoiding the best like Andrade did. Vanes took whatever fights were offered. Andrade turned down quite a few opportunities to fight good fighters while thinking he was owed big money fights.

It’s very possible that Vanes Martirosyan would be undefeated if he went through Andrade’s resume, only losing to Benavidez.

I think the corner saw the next round was not going to be any different. Just more punishment. The ref was going to stop it anyways.

                He never quit, did he?

The only thing that was coming was either a stoppage by the ref or KTFO. So according to you getting KTFO is going out in your shield. The ref stopped the Errol Spence fight, so he didn't go out in shield. The ref told the corner he was going to stop the fight regardless if it continue for Boo Boo fight.

I hate Andrade and I think he didn’t have to out on his shield at that point. After the 6th round, he walked to his corner wobbly and using the ropes to hold him up on his entire walk to the corner.

Maybe he quit, idk, but because of how he looked going back to his corner, my thing with that quit is: no comment.

Going out on your shield doesn’t have to be going out on a stretcher and us fans hearing about how the fighter is now brain dead. And worst case, us fans and media saying RIP.

He was done after the 6th.

Andrade is a skilled fighter and the first two rounds he was working Benavidez and giving him trouble but the size factor was way too much. He couldn't hurt David. His first fight at 168 wasn't the best debut but I think he'd be better off at 160. At 160 those combinations will give anyone trouble. He's too small for 168.
