Another fighter with the wrong style: Richardson Hitchens. However, Hitchens needs more experience. A fantasy card of mine: Pacheco/Berlanga and Matias/Hitchens at the MSG theater. Matias has bigger fish to fry though, and hopefully he gets whoever he's seeking and doesn't become inactive.

I want to see Matias out there before June, and if he can't get a PBC fighter (Russell, Puello, Rodriguez, Romero, etc.), then look elsewhere.
First, we need PBC to find a home! Next, we need IBF to name a #1, #2, and #3 contenders! Ergashev was #3! They have the same problem @ 147!

The guy before said Puerto Rican boxing at it best, though Matias trains in Mexico and trained by a Mexican.
If you study his style it's a merger of both but a lot more Mexican than Puerto Rican. The defense inside gives the illusion of getting hit while the punches are hitting the gloves and arms is a combo of both. This style suits him really well...

It's not the normal Mexican come forward and take shots to the face and walk right through them with shear will while volume punching. If you watch it slowly Most of the punches thrown at him were parry or blocked and not taken flush on the face or anywhere, were real damage can be sustained.

It's a real deceptive style and he seems to have the power to use it really really well. A lot of the Mexicans that use the come forward style don't have the power to use it and just rely on wearing there opponents down with volume punches and they leave themselves open in the process. Subriel doesn't leave himself open and protects himself the whole time. It's really amazing watching him work. Wish him the best.

That's Matías 5th undefeated opponente in his last 8 fights. & he's willing to fight anyone & wants to unify. The question is ¿Are they willing to face Him?
For example Prograise is one that first said if Matías wanted to face him, Matías would have to win a title, so Matías won a title, then he said Matías wasn't at his level & kept on with excuses till now that Prograise got this fight against Haney(obviously Haney is a much more lucrative fight than Matías)

Look who's come out of the wood works, my long lost cousin, the unofficial boxing promoter, the one and only Bronx2245.
Well Matias has now beaten his 5th undefeated opponent, their combined records at the time that Matias scalped'em was 103-0.
Just to put his career achievements into a better perspective for those who haven't taken a deeper dive into Matias short, but incredibly impressive career.
Ergashev was talking big time smack, and Matias beat him down, sending him back home lumped up, and empty handed, after taking his undefeated record from him.
Now a lot of fans want him to fight Russell, but if I remember correctly Russell already turned down an offer to fight Matias, and he's not alone in doing the side step.
I want to see Matias fight all of them Lopez, Prograis, Haney, Russell, Lee, Tank, Hitchins, Barboza, Ramirez, Rivera, and Garcia.
I believe he beats most of them if not all of them by knockout, the promoters have got to keep this explosive fighter busy, it's good for the business.
He eliminates the corrupt judges from the equation, giving the sport of boxing a needed lift to it's integrity, and appeal for the fan's.
I would love to see Matias make 10 title defenses, as that is the gold standard of long reigning champions.
It's good to here from you Bronx2245, you've been my best sparring partner on this platform, you always keep it clean no rabbit punches, hitting on the break, etc.

If Matias has no paperwork saying he MUST fight under the PBC banner, then to hell with waiting.

Ergashev was deemed mandatory, right? So Matias won't be bothered by the IBF anytime soon. He could make their lives easier and just go down the rankings until someone agrees to fight him. There's a lot of decent names ranked in the IBF: Hitchens, Taylor, Catterall, Garcia, Hiraoka, Rodriguez, Ramirez, Barboza, Smith. Some of these guys need more experience. I wish Catterall would abandon the Taylor fight and go after Matias. Catterall and Matias are both guys that people aren't really seeking to fight. The guy who fights Matias will earn good will with the fans. The problem is $$$ related, as it usually is. Ergashev was paid about $150K last night, no TR/Matchroom fighter is gonna settle for that. Hell, no PBC fighter will get in the ring with Matias for that either!

Next time that you want to bet against Matias , punch yourself in the nuts. It feels bad like losing money ,and it's a lot cheaper.
