His downfall - just like Ponce - I don't know if it's just pride or it's these trainers telling these guys to go to war with Matias. It makes no sense. Both Ponce and Ergashev did way better boxing at range, because Matias is 100% an inside fighter.

It's like how Amir Khan was able to nullify Chino for so long until he got sloppy.
Once Matias decides he is going forward and cut the ring as well as he does they have no choice to fight or to hold. His high guard gives the perception that they are scoring and get brave because he stays so inactive for periods. A false sense of security.

      Exactly! Definitely! Fact's!

This was a Chavez Sr. -Chocolatito like destruction. Matias weathered the storm and broke down a beast like Ergashev. Beautiful performance.

I say Haney's style is Kryptonite for him. Probably would set a new record in number of clinches too.

I think so. Haney would stink up the place but his fast hands and legs will get him out of the way.

Subriel isn't human. I felt the shots he took by Ergashev. They were brutal. I don't think most human could of have stood up to those. The fact that they didn't break him and he was able to tilt it back to his favor with the forward momentum and his own power shots was unworldly. I just hope he didn't take much out of him. He's the kind of dude that can't last too long with these type of fights. He had to take a lot before he could give back.

Man that kid is something special, my new favorite high guard fighter, you can tell he loves to fight

He is overwhelming in his crafty relentless attack

He is cool under fire with his high guard, gets your timing and runs you over

I don’t see anyone beating him at 140

I don’t know about that, in the 10 and 11th rounds against Loma Haney was overwhelmed and went back to his corner doubting himself

And Loma was undersized and he is far from a puncher

Imagine Brownie walking him down, I believe he takes his soul also

Loma is a fighter that depends on speed. Matias is not.

Haney excels against fighters that can’t keep up with him, and if they do manage to get in, he’ll hold on tight for a ref break.

I don’t think Brownie will let him hold, holding is usually a mutual agreement

Brownie fought a similar style fighter, “the albino ape”, and while not as skilled as Haney he was much stronger standing at 6 foot

Brownie shook him off like a leaf every time he tried to hold
