Because it's ******ed to say a fight that happens within the welterweight limit is anything but a welterweight fight. Call it what it is. Here's a real life example for you, you have sex with 2 girls but one ended faster than the other (P.E. sorry to hear that doorag) does that mean you've only had sex with one because it lasted a minute more? Or do you take credit for doing it twice because it is what it is? Similar to a ww fight is what it is regardless of any bull**** contract over the limit.

A catchweight is a weight between two recognized weight classes mutually agreed-upon by the two competitors; traditionally, they meet in the middle.
For example, a superfeatherweight (130lbs limit) fighting a featherweight (126lbs limit) at a catchweight of 128lbs. for the latter's championship title belt. . Can it be sactioned at a catchweight?

But they have to fight in one of the recognized official weight divisions, am I right? Not in a mysterious new class called catchweight, am I right?

what a weird analogy.. did i stick my penis in both? in that case i clearly nailed them both, regardless of how long it lasted.

i don't think it's ******ed to call it catchweight, when you clearly cant weigh in at 146 or 147 which you can in a welterweight fight.

and i dont get why this upsets you so much

a fight can be both a catchweight and a WW fight.

but a WW fight isn't necessarily a catchweight fight.

              welterweight is a weight division.

a catchweight is a number on a contract.

its not a hard concept to understand

If you guys don't like catchweight might as well get rid of the weight division and let the best boxer win. Seriously though what is the difference? from 140-147, 147-154? against 143-145, 149-152? Just really think about it.

If a fighter can't weigh all the way up to the limit,

                    its a catchweight.

Its not a hard concept at all.
