Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo: "I'm Still The Best In The World"

Jermall Charlo was an afterthought over the last few years. The current WBC middleweight champ has been sequestered on the sidelines due to a nagging back injury but more importantly, personal issues.

This fight against Benavidez isn't going to answer any questions about where Charlo is as far as being the best at 160 or not. This is more like a gentle ease back into the water. This is killing two birds with one stone , David getting a payday for his brother and PBC getting Jermall through a training camp and in the ring with as little competitive pressure as possible.

Well, this is not proven by any stretch. And even with a win over Benavidez, this won't be so.
To be the best...fight the best. And you've done nothing in the ring for 2 1/2 years.
Kudos for your wins before. But you've basically got to start over.

Best in the world?? You've never even been the best in your division.

I'm not going to lie, it would be pretty badass if Mall does his thing and then challenges Canelo to avenge his brother's loss. Great storytelling right there in my opinion. 168 is hot and getting hotter. I love it!

It seems to me that every champion should just run and not get hit from now on. Judges and announcers will see it as masterclass boxing dominance. Im talking theres no reason to even throw a punch to get the win since it will be on the other guy to press the champ.
