Sam i didn't say he deserved a shot, i'm saying it could be a good pick in Floyds eyes as a warm up. A la Jennings / Cotto.

Jennings has never been marked down for the same bright future Kell is. Warren wouldn't put Brook in with Mayweather.

Same way Witter was thrown to Zab, but Hatton never would have been at that stage in the game.

Also, Jennings was ranked for that strap. Mayweather and Keel would never happen under the circumstances you're suggesting.

The point he's making is that Floyd's in a position now where he has to fight the very best. He's passed fighting up and comers and taking tune ups considering there's at least 1 guy more than qualified (Mosley) before a potential fight with either Pacquiao or Cotto.

Jennings was a tune up for Cotto after the beating he took from Margarito. Floyd pitched a virtual shut out against Marquez. What more warming up does he need? His fans praise him as being the best in the world, yet he'll fight a Kell brook just to stay warmed up? What did he do for the year and a half he was off to put on the performance he did against Marquez? Obviously Marquez played the role of his warm up fight.

Floyd isn't fighting anyone that's an elite welterweight!!The minute Marquez said he wants floyd,I said they will fight,(I was in the minority with that)!!If floyd is gonna fight someone besides Mosley,it will be someone that's not an elite welterweight!!Probably a good fighter from 140,maybe!!I can guarantee he aint fighting nobody he feels has a decent chance of beating him!!

Yeah make you right i suppose. But on the other hand i'm just thinking, if he ain't gonna be fighting til say March/April to give the Cotto/Pac winner time to recover, he'll need to stay busy and he ain't gonna take a risk is he??

Fuck, i didn't even realise Warren was his promoter... Oh well forget Brook then Warren'll wait til Floyds about 62 before putting his fighters in with him.

Jennings fought Cotto because he was the number one contender for the title, so he was as ready as he was going to be. Brook is ranked number 7 in one of the organizations and has never fought on the world scene. He is still a very green project at the moment. If Brook's people put him into a fight like that at this stage, it would be with the intention of getting him beat. He could not compete with Mayweather, not right now.

No dig in the ribs, he would just get dug.

Don't see the point in fighting Spinks either. Other than being a southpaw he has nothing in common with Manny.

If he wants a stay busy fight, I got no problem with another WW. I just don't see the point in fighting a boring ass 154 pounder. If it's really just a stay busy fight(which is already ridiculous) fight Collazo or some ****, start rebuilding your resume at WW. Collazo aint a bad start.

Either way, it's really a slap in the face to his fans. His fans have supported him for so long, stayed loyal through an abrupt two year retirement, and have to wait months after his comeback for him to fight a relevant fight?

He's really starting to lose me as a fan, that's for sure.
Floyd Sr said Mayweather is looking to fight in December, I've now heard early 2010. I wouldn't mind a keep busy fight, as long as it isn't PPV. During the mean time, he will be waiting for the Pacquiao vs. Cotto winner. Mayweather said he could have done alot better, saying he didn't feel all that good...I wouln't mind. Spinks, Collazo...I don't mind either. A stay busy fight is better then waiting on a Cotto vs. Pacquiao winner, he could be waiting for something that isn't gonna happen for all we know.

Fair enough. Kell looks great at the level he's at but there's no way he's ready to mix it with the elites. Give him a few years.

I wouldn't get all over him about it...just depends on who he fought.

It aint gonna be Spinks, he's fighting Dizdurznik or however you spell that name on the 31st I think.

Like I said, Collazo or something on WCB I would be ok with as just a stay busy fight. Just fight a top 10 WW ya know? Collazo is tough as nails, will make him work and will give him rounds.
