The scheduled defense of IBO welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou (47-11-1, 31 KOs) against Mathew Hatton (37-4-1, 14 KOs) on November 13 in Staffordshire, England will have to be postponed due to Ndou suffering a cut over his right eye from a head clash in sparring session with Ariel Omongos of the Philippines Tuesday. The cut needed five stitches. “I am very disappointed in having the fight postponed but the cut was bad and over my eye.” Ndou stated. “I have been looking forward to the fight with Mathew Hatton who I regard as a very tough challenger. I know I will have to be at my best against him. Hopefully the fight will be postponed four or five weeks. The doctor said I cannot spar for that period of time. It is unfortunate but something that happens in boxing from time to time.”
