This is why cheaters like Canelo Alvarez and Big Cheat Miller need to be permanently banned from boxing. They go in there with the artificial ability to end people's lives or injure them permanently.

Any of boxing's bigwigs could buy el Radar a lot full of vans without noticing it. Where is Arum, De La Hoya, Maywewather, Warren, King and the rest of them? Where is Sugar Ray Leonard, who took his first title from Wilfred and was a near family member once?

Read my mind. A number of ex-boxers or promoters can foot the bill for a wheelchair accesible van, or help with Wilfred’s medical needs. One person doesn’t have to do it. Someone has to really take the bull by the horns and organize a fundraiser. Sadly, Benitez’s sister is already in her seventies. Who’s going to take care of him when the time comes? Same with Gerald. It’s a disgrace that these men, and others like them — like Prichard Colon — have to rely on the selfless love of their families, when there’s so much money in the sport.

Benitez was an amazing boxer, it's so hard to believe that he ended up in this damaged condition, he was untouchable at one point in his career.

I think it was a combination of him starting so early at a high level as well as sticking around & taking beatings long after he should've stopped
