Benavidez has been the WBC mandatory challenger for 2 years. Now, the sanctioning body is going to "ratify", or give its formal consent to his mandatory status. That makes about as much sense as putting a frat house on "double secret probation".

I don’t think canelo ducking bumavidez that’s a pretty common misconception. Bivol is better than benevidez and canelo fought him with no issues at higher weight. His Mexican nationalism is annoying but he has never used it to duck anyone . I think he’s just prefer to fight non Mexican heritage fighters. I don’t see a problem with it and I’m not really a canelo fan but I am a fan him at the same time if that makes sense lol. People $h!t on canelo for cherry picking but love GGG somehow even tho GGG never fought a world class true 160 lb fighter until canelo and despite all the crying he never got a win 0-2-1.
