I doubt that you will give $10K just for a KD in sparring. Remember that they are already paid when ask to spar with Manny. They get an extra $1000 if ever they can put Manny on the canvas..

If they spar 10x and put Manny for atleast 5x in canvas then they will have $5000 bonus, Am i right? just my thoughts..

You DON'T seriously think that the Roach is using his own money. He's very keen on m0oney is the Roach. Does anyone remember the fuss and bother with him over money at the beginning of his stint with Manny?

He was sharp enough to force through a huge 10% of Manny's purse, maybe of his purse AND PPV, when it's a well known thing that the money made by top tier fighters is so huge that trainers deals sometimes commence at 3%. The bigger the money the smaller the percentage, because even at a lower cut, it's still huge money for a couple of months work, during which tiime the trainer is usually earning extra with his other fighters also.

I remember many years ago there were some very "spirited" articles and exchanges of angry letters on this subject.

Not really sure on this but 10% is the industry standard and I doubt if Roach need to force Manny to give him that. Could you provide some articles regarding that? thanks.

point is 1K probably not enough to really make a guy go after Pac the way they would need to get a KD. This is another ploy by Roach for media attention. You think one of these guys knocks pac down they wont be watched real close by Freddie? From what I understand you dont really want a sparring partner to give your fighter all kinds of trouble and if he does thats not necessarily a good thing.

I think it's a great idea but $1K is not enough motivation for someone who is already making a decent living. For $10K guys may take a real shot at him. But, why would you want to hurt your own fighter so it's a catch-22.

OMG.. am i reading this clearly? Whats the point of doing sparring and training if the coach doesn't want to give his fighter all the of troubles. How will he boxer learn and prepared himself in the coming fight if you won't give him those troubles..

The purpose why you have to train and spar with a boxer that mimics your coming opponent is for you to learn what to do and get some idea how finish your opponent.

I can't believe you are saying those things..
