Why do Tank victims Ryan and Rolly get put in league with world class fighters?

It was a hydration clause, That's all that's important. Regis/Mario was the fight originally set, and it was claimed "Mario can't make 140 anymore, so he won't be fighting Regis." Suddenly, Mario was fighting Tank at 140 (with a hydration clause) lost the fight, and Mario has been fighting at 147 ever since. Don't act like a Canelo fan "155 isn't important, he COULD have fought at 160"
Its murky those things we never know the facts, clause stating what exactly? when does he have to weigh a certain amount by exactly? how much time does he have to weigh in as much as we wants later? what did he actually weigh on FN? We don't know so I don't take that into account.Comment

This is what "failing upwards" in boxing looks like. Because PBC is invested in Davis, anyone he fights automatically becomes perceived as greater than what they truly are. Barrios is a decent fighter, but after getting cherry-picked by Davis...he then gets cherry-picked by Thurman...and then gets to face Ugas. That's not by accident. He continues to get chances because if he looks good, then Davis' win over him ages better.
To a lesser extent, another example would be Wilder/Ortiz. Ortiz lost to Wilder twice, yet got put on PPV against Martin and Ruiz.Last edited by kiaba360; 11-08-2023, 07:13 PM.Comment

"Because most people dont know sh#t about boxing"Really, what impressive notable wins do either of them really have? Is Ryan just popular because teen girls on IG like him? Rolly just because he's and arrogant prick everyone loves to hate?
I wouldn't even call them prospects, they're in no way in the conversation as it pertains to top tier fighters just media hype jobs.
R.i.p. Roger Mayweather

Rolly was mid.
Ryan however, you have to be fair here
Ryan would've been made WBC champion and would be the undisputed unified champion at 135 instead of Haney if he didn't pull that mental health card when the WBC tried to feed him the belt with Fortuna. Whom he ended up knocking out with little effort anyways.
If not for that initial duck. Haney would've never got emailed the WBC title. The boxing orgs wanted Ryan Garcia at the top but Ryan ran off when presented with it.
So, for that, he's basically what Haney is. If Ryan isn't rated, then neither can Haney. Because both beat the breaks off Kambosos. Actually, I would venture to say that Ryan knocks Kambosos clean out unlike Haney.
And Ryan would've done exactly as Haney did. Kambsos 2x.... maybe Lomachenko, then leave 135.Comment

Ryan would have never went to espn to become undisputed and he damn sure wouldn't have made a defense against LomachenkoRolly was mid.

Considering that Ryan took on Gervonta Davis of all people, it is fair to say he wouldn't be completely against fighting Lomcahenko.
I can't say 100% for sure he would've taken on Lomachenko. But Ryan definitely would've taken on Lomachenko or an equivalent level opponent (Haney, Gervonta etc.) after beating Kambosos.
And I believe 100% Ryan beats Kambosos.Comment
