Comments Thread For: Vazquez On Close Loss To Cordina: Eddie Hearn Knows I Won ... They Did It To Me Again!

Edward Vazquez was frustrated in the immediate aftermath of his close loss to Joe Cordina on Saturday night. "The Welsh Wizard" was a 14-1 favorite according to DraftKings sportsbook, but Vazquez was very competitive in their 12-round fight for Cordina's IBF junior lightweight title at Casino de Monte Carlo in Monte Carlo, Monaco. "They" didn't do anything.

    A close, competitive fight isn't a robbery.

You didn't do enough to convince judges you were better. That's on you, brother.

It actually made the 14/1 on odds look ridiculous , close fight with Joe looking the more dominant. Vaz should have no real complaints he put a good shift in but didn't do enough to lift the title.

Two of the judges didn't have it close or competitive though that's the problem.

IMO: the current state of boxing tells any pro that they need a KO. Never leave it in the judges hands. I like both fighters. Vasquez needed to shut Joe's lights off or COMPLETELY dominate if he wanted to win. Look at the "judges" cards in Bivol vs Clenelo.

I had cordina nicking it but it was really close 116-112 on two cards is far to wide and it shows if you're an away fighter fighting for the title you gotta really win clear or get a knockout. Ain't gonna get it on the cards if it's a close one which this fight was

Can they use a computer to judge the fight. Something can measure punches landed and hard punches landed.

Judges having ridiculous scores, refs stopping fight when they shouldn't to help the fighter who is more popular, fighters not fighting the best, networks and promoters not facing their fighters, that's why the say boxing keeps losing fans.

Because every judge wants something different.

As a fighter your job is to overcome that.

This wasn’t a Mayweather/Canelo situation with one rogue judge. Every fight needs to end with you leaving it all in there. Put a stamp on every round, same thing I said to O’Shaquie and recently to Cashtro for tomorrow’s fight. if you show clear dominance and it ends up an obvious robbery, you can sell an overturn, like Soto vs. Lorenzo 1. But not if you think late round flurries to steal the round or just accuracy is all you need.
