Comments Thread For: Makabu Arrives In U.S., WBC Title Fight Versus Mikaelyan To Move Forward As Planned

Ilunga Junior Makabu is ready to reclaim his old title. Any concerns of having to scramble for a replacement opponent were alleviated when the Congolese southpaw touched down in the U.S. from South Africa on Thursday. Visa issues delayed his trip by a few days but Makabu has arrived in Miami in time for his vacant WBC cruiserweight title fight versus Noel Mikaelyan.

Last Don King card I watched it looked like they were fighting in a fish warehouse. Hopefully they upgraded to a high school gym or something.

We are always told that the cruiser-weight division has never caught the interest of American boxing fans - and likely never will.

Step forward Don King with a radical plan to change all that by arranging a fight between a Congolese and Armenian cruiser-weights and pitching it at the Great American Public at $20 . Nice one Don.

Way back in the day they would be $20 ppv cards. They would have solid fighters there were not super stars. Don don't have a network to show his events.

Bad planning by Makabu, he should have been in the states a month ago!
