With Bivol fighting as early as Jan the chances of a Beterbiev fight in 2024 has increased

perhaps Bivol fights three times next year

    To compensate for skipping 2023

Also, Beterbiev is signed to face Callum Smith next...and it would've happened already if Beterbiev didn't have to recover from a jaw infection. Bivol's inactivity is a reflection of what's happening in the entire division.
I agree that the lightweight division is in shambles but you got Slow Eddie doing everything possible to keep Bivol away from Beterbiev
Everything that he planned has backfired on him , as you mentioned Buatsi went MIA , then Canelo fughed off , I think now he’s got nothing left for Bivol and he better cash him out against Beterbiev cause that investment went sideways
Yes , Artur has to fight Smith , again one of Slow Eddie’s fighters which got a gift mando , plus the injury
Artur doesn’t want anybody else but Bivol and it will happen one way or another ( even if the belt is not on the line , we all know the winner is the unified champion
The fight will get made before the summer of 24 , most likely right before summer
Beterbiev doesn’t want anything else but unification , he knows he’s getting old and that is part of the reason why he wants to move up , won’t have to lose as much weight
And this guy lives in the fughin gym , Imagine

Other than keeping Bivol inactive, I think Matchroom played their cards correctly. Hearn probably hoped Beterbiev/Bivol undisputed would morph into Buatsi/Smith undisputed, but things simply didn't play out as planned. I think Hearn wants to watch Beterbiev/Bivol more than he wants to promote it. He's praying to the boxing gods that Smith upsets Beterbiev.

Once you get past the promoter/network issue, then you have the WBC not wanting to sanction Bivol. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Man, I don`t care for how many belts they fight.

But be sure, if they can make a deal, than WBC will want to be a part of this.

The fact that top 10 contenders like Yarde, Azeez, Buatsi are not "ready" for Bivol , tells me, that Bivol can only fight beterbiev, some fringe contenders or nobody.

Gvozdyk would be the best opponent for January.

Kiaba , if they fight without the WBC on the line , whoever wins , what would you say to your buddies ?
There goes the undisputed unified light heavyweight champion
Everyone will say the same thing and the only strange thing about the fight is Sulaiman didn’t get his 3%

Like JakeTheBoxer said, the WBC will probably acquiesce because they are unprincipled. If Beterbiev/Bivol is signed and sealed, the WBC will look ridiculous regardless of the decision they make.

Beterbiev/Bivol is THE match-up to make, and it's at risk of being over-marinated.
