He will be ok. He was forcing his body to make 147, which he should have left years ago.

Why the criticism? He cannot make 147 without a serious danger to his health. That is obviously not him avoiding an opponent.

This weight bully clown needs to fight at 160 and take this sport serious going forward. He almost exploded his kidneys

Lawson is no slouch. And there’s just no telling how much damage Ortiz”s body now has. Still say he should retire.

I hope that Vergil is able to make it to the ring without any further ill effects to his health. He's got a huge amount of potential.

It's not criticism, it's just logic. Either he's healthy and can fight Stanionis, or he's not and he can't fight anyone. I wish him the best, but I really feel for Stanionis who's been waiting for so long, and specially after stepping aside to let Crawford vs Spence to happen.

Ortiz cannot make 147 anymore without compromising his health; that is not ducking Stanionis. He has to fight at a higher weight. Welterweight Stanionis career is not hinged on only fighting one a specific junior middleweight.

Exactly what I was thinking. I like Vergil. Hard not to like him. He's a good dude & is a fun boxer to watch. Idk wtf is up with him health-wise tho & maybe him boxing at all isn't a great idea right now.

I'd prefer if he took a full year off & get everything sorted out for real for real. This feels like another rush back to the ring where things could go sideways again on fight wk & for what?

How much weight was Ortiz cutting to make 147? Does anyone know what he is walking around at pre camp?
