Comments Thread For: Savannah Marshall Issued Medical Certification Notice By WBO, Required To Show Proof Of Injury

Savannah Marshall will have to act to keep intact her remaining super middleweight titles. The two-division titlist was presented with an "Interim Medical Certification" order by the WBO regarding an existing hand injury that has stalled her current title reign. Marshall was already downgraded to 'Champion in Recess' by the WBC and now has to act to ensure the same--or more severe action--is not taken by another sanctioning body.

Funny how the 'sanctioning organizations' are all about piling up stacks of
cashish for themselves... NOT to exist for the fighter's well being. The least all
these alphabet boiz could do would be to get their act together to be more universal.
Some of 'em even want a title defense within 2-3 months. Just my 37 cents worth, that's all.

Why is it such a big deal right now or so urgent? She last fought and won the titles exactly 4 months ago. The article said she'd be ready in 2024 so 6 months at best without a defense is terrible and needs medical proof? What about Charlo doing nothing for over 2 years and still holds the WBC 160lb title?
