Great post. Fixing boxing starts with acknowledging the truth, well said.

Someone else Del Boy can get beat up by in the mean time, he comes to fight but not really all that dangerous anymore.

After Maidana vs Floyd 1 we didn't think Maidana was P4P number number 2.

Now people will be aware of N'gannou style and power. And he won't fight the fight of his life twice in a row.

I would not be surprised if N'gannou lose to Helenius next lol

Let's see if he can do it again. Ranking well deserved but hello have to back it UP.
What's Maidana got to do with anything? I never mentioned him. I'm saying Ngannou is top 10 heavyweight right now based of what I saw. How do you know that was the fight of his life - it's more likely he will improve with more time with a boxing trainer. He is in great shape, is very strong , has quick hands and a tremendous punch. He can get better over the next couple of years. The HW division is not some shark tank - the levels and depth is not that great - he can fit right in with the likes of at least Whyte, Helenius, Brezeale and Chisora - he can make good money.

We’ve seen a boxer knock out a former UFC heavyweight champion in MMA.
That was indeed back in the early days of the ufc, its always possible for elite level boxers with certain attributes would do well with some takedown defence training. Terence Crawford no doubt would do well, his fighting style and wrestling background. As for ngannou he's a freak of nature. He's not a stereotypical mma fighter he didn't start mma til he was very old and excelled fast just like he'd do in boxing.
he's a bo Jackson in combat sports, his power is unworldly

Heavyweights who have achieved a top 10 ranking in two of the three big combat sports during their fight career:

            William Miller. Boxing and Wrestling
            Patrick Smith. Kickboxing and MMA
            Maurice Smith. Kickboxing and MMA
            Mark Hunt. Kickboxing and MMA
            Frans Botha. Kickboxing and Boxing
            Semmy Schilt. Kickboxing and MMA
Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic Kickboxing and MMA
            Ray Mercer. Boxing and MMA
            Alistair Overeem Kickboxing and MMA
            Francis Ngannou Boxing and MMA

Heavyweight title challengers who dropped the champion in their first pro fight:

            Pete Rademacher. 1957
            Francis Ngannou. 2023

Nagganu's performance may inspire more fighters to cross up to the big money fight sport, and Boxing MMA fighters like Ngannou have to be tempted.
There's lots missing from that list. Lots of fighters make the changeover and many like Anderson silva have being top of the food chain in both kickboxing and mma
Its a natural progression. Boxing is a lil different. You won't see claressa shields become ufc women's champ as special as she is in a boxing ring. Kickboxers already use hands, legs, knees, clinch game rhey have a lot less to improve to make it in mma compared to a boxer. The philly shell won't save you in an octagon

Of course that maricon Sulaiman would give Ngannou a high ranking. He just wants the money. Wbc and wba should be outlawed, their orgs are corrupt af.

Sure he should continue boxing, sure he had a great performance, sure he deserve a solid ranking.

But don't get surprised if he looks average next.

I think the quality of his performance is due to his unique qualities(Iron will, power, instinct, strenght, fighting IQ, 272 lbs of shredded explosive muscles) but ALSO due to Fury lazy a'ss expecting a cake walk.

yeah, Fury was as bad as Ngannou was good - I think Fury prepared wrong - he thought he could go in as he did in Wilder 2 and 3 and get a ko - he quickly found out Ngannou was quicker and had better timing than he anticipated. So he went back to Fury bobbing weaving jabbing style - 'cept he didn't train for that style of fight - he wasn't in shape enough to do that - that's my take - plus also Fury is 35 now and has a lot of mileage on the clock from those Wilder fights and now this fight too

I wonder if steroids come into play with Ngannou? 37-years-old and all muscle?

We know MMA is full of PED cheats. See Jon Jones.
