Comments Thread For: Benavidez Jr. Isn't a Tune-up Fight For Jermall Charlo Warns Benavidez Sr.

The career of Jermall Charlo was about as picture-perfect as his record. At 154 pounds, he didn't aggregate every world title but one was enough for most to consider him the man to beat. He may have taken the IBF crown off the carcass of an older Cornelius Bundrage but wins over Austin Trout and Julian Williams left no doubt surrounding his title reign.

I mean it is what it is but it's a tune up. Not only is Benavides a smaller guy, he's also been fighting on one leg for the latter part of his career. He can barely move around in there, All that said, We will see what Charlo looks like coming off a very long lay off where he was clearly dealing with mental health and personal problems more than "injury" they are claiming he had.

Charlo barely beat Montiel and he is terrible. I’d say Benavidez is better than him so I’d say it’s no guaranteed win. Jose spars w his brother all the time also so he’s used to being in there w a better fighter.

Sorry but anyone who is dominated by a natural 140 pound Garcia is not going to beat a 160 pound Charlo in any condition he comes in.

Charlo is right. It was a money grab. Definitely wasn’t a fight.

JB Jr. was a legit contender before the gun shot. I used to not like him but after the Crawford fight he seems to have matured. I hope he wins. He's a good fighter.
