But his relationship to his fanbase , it bothers me... I also don't want him to fight if he is damaged. He is a young guy with a family and has proved a lot. Maybe not fighting anymore sluggers? The Saudis are kind of a souless group... lots of money to throw around, little understanding of the sport, and what makes a champion great imo.
i agree about the saudis and also if fury has had enough he should only fight another fight if he really feels winning. fans can push the star too much and i understand what you mean. fury will retire champion like the rock did.

Wlad never fought Vitali or avenged the Sanders loss. Even Lewis missed some names like Bowe, Ruiz, Byrd, and he got Tyson too late. Tyson himself failed to beat the best of his time. Holmes never fought Foreman and a bunch of other contenders in his weaker era. Ali is like one of the only ones who truly fought and beat them all.

^That is not a critique to those gentlemen, I am trying to tell you that it is not a realistic expectation, and the way we rank the best fighter of an era is to simply compare their careers and choose the fighter with the best resume/career.

That is how it has always been done. You know this, and you also know that using this criteria Anthony Joshua barely makes #2 of this era let alone #1.
Vitali was considered better then Wlad ,everyone knows they weren’t going to fight anyway .

How many guys were considered the best with just one proven top guy is a better question ? That would be Furys win over Klitchko .

Mike Tyson cleaned out his era . Who did he not fight when he was on top ? How many title defenses does Fury have and how many mandatory fights ?

Holmes never fought Foreman because ppl were watching Foreman lose to weaker guys like Jimmy Young after Ali fight and he disappeared for a decade or whatever .

Barely making 2 is close to 1 so I don’t get the let alone statement it don’t make sense .

As of right now Fury might be considered the best but he’s still the fantasy fight champion on here as WE know when you fight easier competition it’s easier to stay undefeated in long spurts and that’s exactly what he’s been doing which is avoiding tougher fights , taking easy touches in between since he got a spotlight put on him ,he couldn’t even defend a title after Wlad he disappeared 2/3 years after that . Lol,
