Saudis Ruined Heavyweight Boxing Forever?

heavyweight division and boxing has had issues for decades. This saudi thing only started up the last few years. The saudis over paying fighters isnt really any different than DAZN overpaying fighters. En****** overpaying because they dont care if they lose money is only one problem. You still have the old problems of promoters not working together and then the mentality of a single lose ruining a fighters career unlike the UFC nobody cares if someone has a loss over there, Dana will still give them big fights if a fighter looses. -
Like one poster said, time is money in the opposite direction. Wasting time is not wasting money in boxing, but making investment. You simply wait for the big money fight. Being active is tantamount to taking a risk in losing the money fight.Comment

Saudis have value if they can provide resources to make fights fans want to happen sooner.
If they can make all the top hwts start to fight each other like 1970-2000, fine with me.
We lose because these fights will not be held in erica or England in front of hyped crowds.Comment

It's hard to say because in the past, places couldn't really compete with Vegas in terms of money... but now that's shifted to another place, but nobody was really complaining when it was in Vegas.
but that's just the way it goes, there has always been a place that's able to lead the way in terms of what they can offer financially but it just happens to be in Saudi Arabia now.

Boxing went through this when Foreman won his title in Jamaica, defended in Venezuela, Japan, and Zaire.
Boxers and their ****** promoters and ABC orgs ruined western boxing and can't buy fans.

One thing I don’t like though is it gives fighters the incentive to sit on their hands and wait for the big pay day in Riyadh Season or whatever BS holiday the Saudi’s are celebrating. Fury waiting out the Usyk fight is a prime example this year.Comment
