Teddy who wasn’t taking his meds for schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder, claimed he was hearing Cus D’amato telling him to bite the ears off of judges who rendered bad decisions when he was a commentator for ESPN. ESPN was afraid that Teddy would act and didn’t want the liability of getting sued so they put Teddy on limited duty provided he signed a waiver too hold ESPN harmless should he carry through on the Cus voices he was hearing. Teddy also had to agree to be searched for guns, assault rifles, knives, brass knuckles, grenades, etc anytime he was on the air.
