The 2023 calendar has been filled with big fight after big fight. Eddie Hearn, having put together a few noteworthy shows of his own, wanted to close out his year with a blockbuster.

Massive fight but not competitive. Everyone wants Canelo vs Benavidez, not this.

I doubt he cares about it being competitive.

I might agree with Hearn here. If Berlanga moves forward and wins.

The set up will be the classic Puerto Rico vs Mexico fight. $$$$

      Even though he's American "Nuyorican"

the marketing team will know what to do.

A classic PR vs. MEX fight would be Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Xander Zayas @ 154! I think I would like that more than Munguia vs. Berlanga!

How about make Berlanga vs Munguia before even mentioning Nelo. A fight that makes sense for both fighters w/ the same promoter should not be hard to make.

Like every promoter very shameless. Neither guy would be competitive against Canelo. They will look like Yildrim in the middle of the ring.

It would have been (maybe still could be). But Virgil has major health concerns , has not fought since Aug of 22' . Honestly Virgil has had nothing but bad luck since he left RGBA.

I actually get why Munguia and Berlanga are being kept away from actual good fighters but for the life of me I dont understand why its so hard for them to fight each other. Smh.

Damn, I figured he could be back at higher weight, but if he damaged the kidneys, etc., then he's done! So sad!
