Gotta give Quintana all the respect in the world for taking this fight, the guy simply fights the best availible. With that said, RIP Carlos Quintana.

I don't know if Clottey can put enough pressure on Quintana to **** up his rhythm. Quintana is a guy who thrives on having space to operate and time to set up his punches. He's a tough out for anyone who gives him this space and time. This will be a very good fight in my opinion. Clottey doesn't have knockout power, nor does Quintana. I bet this will be a close decision either way...both guys will have their moments.

Really? Who has Clottey destroyed lately that would lead you to believe Carlos is being sent to the glue factory?

I seem to recall Miguel Cotto getting busted up pretty badly and taking some serious punishment against Clottey, nearly losing the fight. I just don't see Quintana being able to withstand that kind of punishment nor have the boxing smarts & skills of Miguel Cotto to edge out a victory.

The only way I see Clottey losing this fight is if he fuucks around and doesn't take his training seriously and is unmotivated by fighting quintana.

Clottey gave Cotto a very tough time. Cotto also had to deal with a large gash over his eye and yada yada you know the rest.

Quintana and Cotto operate so differently though. I don't know if you can really use the Cotto fight as an indicator of how a Quintana/Clottey fight plays out. Quintana is a somewhat slippery boxer who fights from range and rarely looks to bully his opponent. Cotto is a guy who likes to get inside and so on. Quintana will attack the high guard of Clottey in a much different way. I don't think he'll have any problem (game plan wise) with the idea of boxing from the outside and tying Clottey up when he gets close.

Clottey often lets his opponents hang around, so the possibility of Quintana stealing the fight at the end isn't a unlikely outcome at all.
