As said, boxing killed itself when the top fighters and upcoming fighters went to HBO and Showtime and then the biggest fights were on PPV. HBO and Showtime doesn't have the reach of prime time networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox. Imagine if the NFL went off regular network and on only HBO and Showtime and then have their playoff games and Superbowl on PPV. The audience won't decline right away, but over the years? It will. Not to mentioned boxing is not a HS or college sport to replenish its participants like the other sports. It was suicidal to go to premium cable channels and limiting your audience.

Go woke, go broke. I’m looking forward to something better than showtime and hbo. They were the greatest of their times. But their time is up. We deserve better now. Who will show out?

Quite sad for boxing. It's outlets keep shrinking. Maybe a return to local tv if possible?

This is only a surprise to the slow members of the class.

As the king of mixed metaphors, Teddy Atlas, might say, boxing has screwed the pooch for so long that the chickens have finally come home to roost.

From small things like firing Pauli Malignaggi to much bigger problems like PBC trying to run its own private boxing league, the sport of kings has been in the hands of court jesters.

It hasn’t been run for fans.

Eventually, you can only turn off so many customers.

    DAZN is next.

Future promoters: learn from the mistakes of these idiots.

First HBO and now SHOWTIME! Sad. The production quality and presentation was the best. Gonna miss both. I really hope some good will come from this and we get promoters and fighters trying to put on good fights and grow the sport.

That would be a twist I haven't heard yet. Might be a good idea.
