You're joking right? Give Tim his credit. Mendoza was fine going in and didn't make any excuses before or after the fight. Once he felt Tim's power he realized he had to pick his punches and not go toe to toe or he would quite possibly have been stopped. That happens to fighters all the time when they face someone who puts on solid pressure and lands hard, accurate punches. The mental pressure Tim put on, closing range slowly with effective aggression while landing hard punches systematically, put Mendoza in a shell.

People think this is some kind of video game. “Do this, do that!” Real easy to say when you’re on the outside looking in. Some guys are just better than others. Doesn’t matter what you try. Mendoza gave his all like the true warrior he is. Just wasn’t enough.

Yeah Tszyu was pretty much landing big punches at will towards the end and not getting hit much himself. He got into a great rhythm, Mendoza brave/****** to stay in his feet.

I thought it was Mendoza's best performance, his output was actually a lot higher than usual especially in the first 6 rounds. He's usually a lot more passive, but against Tszyu I think he realised he'd need to do more or otherwise he'd be miles behind on the scorecards.

Castano is all washed up, Lubin or Ramos makes more sense. I think he'd give Charlo a run for his money.

Really good match-up, but Castano hasn't fought since Jermell.

In a fantasy world, (an active) Castano/Madrimov, and Mendoza/Metcalf.

Tim didn't even look great Mendoza barely sat on his punches, I could care less what you think Tim is still overhyped and has leaky defense. He will be beat sooner rather than later but I stated I didn't have a problem with him winning, he won decisively but Mendoza had a lot of openings and he just seemed content to coast at times.

I'm not sure what you are going on about Mendoza not going toe to toe, he literally ate punches all night right in front of Tszyu while throwing arm punches.

You're only saying that because he's Cuban, if he was Mexican it would be a different story.

                  I believe Mendoza’s half-Mexican. Haha

You believe or you know? Good thing I know for a fact both his parents are Cuban born. Haha.
