Israel Vazquez Talks Priolo, Weight Struggles, Marquez

This coming Saturday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California, Israel Vazquez (43-4, 31KOs) returns to the ring for the first time since last March's win over Rafael Marquez. Vazquez returns after multiple surgeries and a long rehab process to correct a retina injury. His opponent will be lightly regarded Angel Antonio Priolo (30-7, 20KOs). The first bout for Vazquez at featherweight. He is not going to treat Priolo as an easy fight. He plans to treat him like an A-level opponent. [details]

Good to have him back, if he and Marquez are ok and not affected by their three wars, the Featherweight divison will be a division to keep an eye on.

The third fight may have been the best fight I have ever seen. Maybe Castillo-Corrales gets the nod. Either way, I will watch every Vasquez fight until he retires. He has earned that and more. Made a fan out of me.

I can't say for sure but I don't think Marquez would win the fourth fight at featherweight. Only God knows how much each fighter has left after those three wars but all things being equal, I think Vasquez would probably stop Marquez in the late rounds at the higher weight. Whatever happens, I am sure to watch both fighers whether they fight each other or not. Both are exciting and I have been fans of both for a long time. I am just glad to see them fighting again as long as they still have the goods....

Oh as far as the best fights I have seen: Corrales vs. Castillo I takes the cake, with Vasquez vs. Marquez III, Gatti vs Ward I, Ron Lyle vs. George Foreman and Hagler vs. Hearns all a close second...
