Is Arthur Abraham unproven on an elite level?

only saying AA will beat Taylor, simply because of his power and ability to take punches. the move up to super isnt a big deal for him either, he will only be that much stronger than he was at 160.
in defense of him being untested, i can say the same for the majority of fighters in this tournament. Taylor and Kessler have fought the better opposition, but seriously what makes anyone else more likely to win.
I'll be rooting for Ward, since he's representing Oakland and the SF bay area, and i'll be ringside for the Kessler match-up. Other than that i think each fighter has a chance, I just think Abraham's will to take him deep.Comment

AA beat miranda, so that means he's elite... at 160... dunno at 168 lbs.Arthur Abraham may have the goods and may possibly be an elite level fighter but I am not too sure because he has not been tested against a great fighter or a world class opponent. From what I have seen I would say his best wins are against Miranda who is a solid contender level fighter who has great power just like Abraham, and Gevor who is another contender level fighter that Abraham stopped in dramatic fashion. I will say Gevor looked good last time out against Sturm, I though he won too.
Still can we safely say that Jermain Taylor is without a doubt the best opponent Abraham will have fought? Can we also confirm that Abraham is not the best best fighter Taylor will have fought? I would say that Hopkins is levels above AA in all terms except for 1 punch ko power.
I notice that AA seems to be a heavy favorite in this fight but at the same has obvious disadvantages against Taylor in terms of skill, natural talent, & big fight experience. There are many flaws in AA's game that Taylor should be able to easily exploit the the UD win in my view. Even in losing by ko to Froch, Taylor was able to win most rounds and expose Froch's flaws. That loss I think is what has driven Abraham to the position of being favored to win this fight in the minds of many fight fans. Abraham is favored still even he has not shown the ability to handle a fighter of Taylor's Caliber while at the same time JT clearly has all of the tools to win still. So one last time I think I am going to put my faith in Taylor to use his skills and talent to win the UD against Abraham.Comment

AA fought who he could. It can't possibly be his fault Sturm and Pavlik wanted no part of him.
Look at the rest of his resume. He fought all the Euro best.
Taylor is how good again? After Hopkins, he had an uneventful reign at middle, and got blitz by Pavlik and then Froch. It's not like Taylor's been on any sort of knockout streak as of late.Comment

Some ppl view elite as best fighters of a division regardless of the level of competition in the division. When I made this I was not using the word elite in those terms. More in terms of on par with other greats MWs from anytime in terms of skill, speed, power.Comment

Elite I consider top 15 p4p fighters now so I don't think he fits there.
Definetely not on all time basis.Comment

I just think we should hold modern champions to the highest standards and compare them to the only thing we can which is fighters that came before them. So that is what I use. I consider Taylor elite in terms of skill and natural talent. I think the best version of him can give any MW who ever fought a problem, and he will be by far in my view AA most skilled and talented opponent.Comment
