The more venues for big events spread all over the globe, the better.

The area they should improve on from others would, as always, be in judging. Less old people with eye problems.

But at least the US and Britain still have free speech and their citizens are not afraid to criticize their actions.

Ah, yes the "screaming monkey logic" = i'm in a cage and they ignore me, but at least i have the "freedom" to scream at them all i want. It's the kissing cousin of "rat in a maze" = i'm in a maze but at least i have the "freedom" to go left + right + back + forward, even if i have no say in how the maze is designed.

also, what body is going to hold them "accountable"? surely not the UN, whose charter had always been safely ignored by the countries who give it the majority of its funding.

personally, i prefer "sportwashing" to be spread evenly around the world instead of being the privilege of a select few. good thing that's where things seem to be headed right now.
