I thought Jones vs Hopkins II was never gooing to come ven close to happening, now all Jones has to do is beat Green and I can finally see this fight.

No, this is a pick'em fight, though Cotto is a slight favorite in my book (about 7 to 5) by KO. Manny could easily take a decision if he stays busy, gets in, works, gets out, rinse, repeat. Only reason I have Cotto as a favorite is because Manny will probably insist on trading, and I don't know how long he'll be able to take power punches from Miguel (who will be committed to the body throughout, taking away Manny's legs, speed and power).

It would be great for boxing as a ton of media & fans hate Floyd and love Pac. It would just be great but sadly you know it will never happened or atleast not the way we want it to. Tell your boy Cotto to get blasted, go down in the 5th, and let Arum-Floyd agree to 56.5-43.5 in Floyd's favor and lets get it on

So it doesnt matter to you who is the actuall better fighter and who deserves to be on the big stage....You just want to see all the celebrity and glitz that comes with a huge mega fight....

Has it ever occured to you that if Miguel Cotto beats Manny...That maybe he deserves to be the one fighting Mayweather and that if Cotto beats Pacquiao...The more competitive and exciting fight would be against Cotto and Mayweather anyway.

It's funny to me that some people would rather buy hype and high profile bullshyt...like a Floyd vs Dela type of fight.

I was pretty confident in Manny winning, but recently I have been feeling Cotto's chances. I think Cotto realizes how important this fight is for him and is focused. I am not so sure about Manny's focus, he has shown great training focus through whatever circumstances in the past though.

It will be interesting how it plays out from here.

I agree with everything but this. No way in hell does Cotto win a close dec in Vegas with the possibility of Pac vs May.

His statement is more of the "casual fan statement". Fans that really know boxing want to see the two top skilled or power fighters as opposed to "Money May" and The Filipino that beat the good white guy and the great Golden Boy".
To a Casual fan Pac is popular because he beat "that really good WHITE guy" and Oscar The Golden Boy Hoya, who just happens to be almost as well known as Mike Tyson.
The fighter that deserves to win and wins because he is the better, stronger more willed fighter should go on to fight a great fighter in Mayweather.
Thats why Margarito is so hated, not because the PR"s has their guy beaten, but because Margarito cast a shadow of doubt on whether he DESERVED to win many of his fights including that of Cotto. No one did that to him...he did it to himself.
