1. A need for attention (they could take it to PM but think we're all interested in their performance).
2. Fragile egos. They think if they don't have the last word it looks bad to their (imagined) audience.
3. Being terminally online. Despite much protestation to the contrary, it's clear these two single men don't have much else going on.
4. Mental illness. The fundamental unhappiness in both just spills off the page.
5. Lack of insight. Understanding themselves sufficiently to stop this lame behaviour as grown men is beyond them.
