I genuinely feel that Joe Calzaghe is one of the greatest fighters ever to come out of britain......i also think that he would have beaten a prime Eubank, Watson, Benn and Collins.
Having read Clinton Woods' comments that joe should fight an eliminator for a shot at him, i must say that i am inclined to agree. Clinton recently won the IBF light heavy title by havin to fight eliminators, and is now a valid champion of the world on merit, beating a credible american opponent. Why does Joe think that he can automatically call out clinton by having done nothing to warrant a shot. He has essentially waited for clinton to do all of the hard work and expects to jump straight to the head of the queue because he is a recognised name over here.
His fight with Brian-Magee was called of today one day before the fight, so that means he will have to wait another number of months to fight again in what is supposed to be the prime time of his career. What is he doing fighting Brian Magee anyway? The fight has been made for months now, and only one day before the fight this **** happens!!!!
Don't tell me it's beyond Frank Warren to make a match with a Montell Griffin, Eric Harding, or even Richard Hall.......someone with some kind of credibility so that he can get a shot at a proper fighter and another WBO belt for god's sake!!!!
I personally blame Frank Warren for constantly making crap fights for him which are always maent to be the final hurdle before the supposed big fights!!! Clinton woods was watched by 1.8 million viewers the other week and how many times has an audinece of that much ever seen joe fight?? not many!
It's time for Warren to either produced some kind a meaningful fight (against someone not already beaten by Sven Ottke)or Joe should just leave him.Go where?? i don't know but Warren aint done Jack **** for him. Who other than Warren fighters regard the WBO title as something otehr than a stepping stone! I am so fed up of Warren's excuses!
