  • Comments Thread For: Emanuel Navarrete Granted 'Super Champion' Designation By WBO

Emanuel Navarrete was granted 'Super Champion' status by the sanctioning body whose titles he has held for nearly five consecutive years. The three-division and reigning WBO junior lightweight titlist was approved to receive the special distinction in a ruling released Friday. The sanctioning body voted unanimously in his favor, one week after receiving his request.

Navarrete fighting in an undercard were he should be headlining his own. Also now he is facing someone else that had a fight lined up. Apparently the reshuffled the matches.

I have to admit, I picked Valdez for the win. Navarrette is is a 3 division titlist but is he unifying or fighting the best in the respective divisions? I'd have to do a little research to answer that for myself but I don't have enough interest in Navarrette. He proved me wrong so I'll have to give him his flowers on the Valdez win.

He is stlll fighting Conceicao. Was my error on the opponent, I mixed up his fight and Robeisy Ramirez. We have since corrected. Sorry about that.

Good for Vaquero. I appreciate that the WBO has more specific requirements for the Super title, and useful benefits and doesn't result in more than one "champion" in the weight class. Also that they tend to follow their own rules.

What's after Super Champion ? Super Duper Champion ? Or Universal Diamond Champion ?
On a side note , Taco Bell has the Chicken Taquitos again and they're kickin , they're the Super Champion of fast food , available for a limited time only , unfortunately. Tell them I sent you , they might not spit in your food.

I picked Valdez too but in the end he just got totally overwhelmed by Navarette because he just couldn't keep up with that level of work rate and he was just looking for the big shot and he did land it a few times but it was clear he wasn't.gonna get Navarette out of there an then he couldn't adapt

Agreed. Valdez didn't have enough power to handle Navarette. Looked good in spots but couldn't take control.
