Murray Hopes To Be Ricky Hatton's Heir, Eyes Katsidis

British lightweight star John Murray, 24, is hoping to become the next Ricky Hatton. He believes his name is gaining steam in Manchester and now he wants to be the next big thing in the UK. Murray (28-0, 16KOs) picked apart his rival Jon Thaxton, over four rounds last Saturday to get the TKO win in dominating fashion. [details]

i have only seen 4 fights of him but of what i see, i dont think he is good enough for elite level. i think he can be a contender/euro champ level at most.

Katsidis is the one, and maybe the only high ranked lightweight that John Murray CAN beat.

Valero is having trouble getting a visa in the US. Maybe Murray can offer him a fight in the UK for his WBC world title.

                  Murray's got a dodgy chin, so that's a no.

I don't rate Murray. He's very easy to hit and with a lightweight division full of big hitters, he'll be easy pray. That's if he gets that far.
