Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson On De Los Santos: "Big Power, Good Boxing Skills But He's Not Gonna Be Able To Beat Me"

It wasn't the opponent he wanted but that doesn't Shakur Stevenson is listlessly going through training camp. On November 16th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 26-year-old will officially take on Edwin De Los Santos. To sweeten the pot, the WBC has placed their freshly vacated title on the line.

"But while Stevenson was under the impression that one of the division’s top contenders such as Isaac Cruz, Vasiliy Lomachenko, William Zepeda, and most recently, Frank Martin, would be willing to face him next, he was proved wrong."

That's a damn shame! I give Loma a pass, but the others need to go see the wizard for some courage!!!

Why the pass for Loma when Haney clearly stated that he wasn't giving him a rematch?

Who else remembers all of the excitement a couple of years ago about all of the potentially great fighters and fights between 130 to 140. When we look at what did happen versus what could have happened , it's a huge letdown. It seems sometimes like boxing thrives on being a disappointment. I don't know who is to blame , so I'm going to have to blame the people who have the power to insist on fighting each other. The fighters are where the buck stops. New Four Kings , my ass.

I give a pass for Loma fighting Shakur, because of the war in Ukraine. However, now that I think about it, if he was willing to fight Haney in a rematch...that sounds like a DUCK!!!

I would bet the house Shakur wins by decision but he better pack his lunch.

Santos can take a punch or two to give a punch or two and he can crack. He likes to throw while you throw too but I believe Shakur timing is next level so he should be fine. Santos definitely has a punchers chance to upset the apple cart.

If the odds are wild I will be placing a bet on Santos knowing that’s 90% chance of losing money.

Cos he was only going to fight Haney for another chance at been undisputed. With Haney making it clear it isn't happening, he's taking the rest of the year off afterall that was a hard fight and also all the Ukraine war stuff. How is that duck? How many fighters in this modern boxing time have gone on to fight calibre of fighters like Haney and Shakur back to back. Come on Man, not even Floyd or Pac did that let alone wanting Loma to do it in a span of 6 months and now we want to call him a duck for not doing it. Stop it. If they are still in the same weight class next year and beyond and they don't tangle then we can start apportioning blame

Exactly, Shakur asked him directly, not through a management team or anything, for the fight if Devin wouldn't give him the rematch. Loma declined like all the rest of the ducks.
