Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson: Frank Martin Got Cold Feet; Don't Think He Wanted to Lose

Shakur Stevenson remains befuddled as to why Frank Martin decided to pass up an opportunity that he says would have netted Martin a career high payday and title shot.

Arguably a tougher fight vs Santos so why not just leave Martin in the rear view? bigger fish out there anyway

Daily Boxingscene rehash of the same tired non-story. Boxing has more prima donnas than a San Francisco Pride Parade.

Santos will be easy for Shakur--too slow. Martin is more dangerous but still would lose decision. The fight is Tank vs Shakur--make that one.

          Well, it's over now.

Martin, just like any other prospects, has a team behind him. He doesn't decide on his own. Whoever advised him to walk away from the negotiations, and ultimately reject the fight, which Frank persistently called out, made a terrible decision.

Frank Martin hasn't been promoted properly. His last fight with the Armenian guy didn't even result in any published TV ratings. It was that bad. Nobody promoted it.

No doubt there were fans who wanted to know who this Artem Harutyunyan guy was. No search results are found on Google, and only two or three clips on Youtube that were years old. One week into the fight still no one talks about it in this forum until 2 days. I don't know what kind of promoter you are rejecting the Shakur fight, which was very much needed for your fighter's exposure.
