  • Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo Reflects on His Maturation: 'I Used to Run Around The Boxing World Wanting to Punch on Anybody'

Jermell Charlo isn't exactly proud of the way he comported himself in years past. In a recent interview, the undisputed 154-pound champion from Houston, Texas, expressed some regret about his tetchy behavior as he was coming up as a contender.

I use to like Jermell back then, but he's even more likable now. Pretty hard to hate on this dude in my opinion. He's faced everyone he's had to face and wants all the real threats.

I like this more respectful version of Charlo too. I wish him well on fight night

Thats amazing. He's matured now and realizes how weak it makes you look to trash talk and be disrespectful. I really like this guy better as a person now.

Who would have thought 'Lil' Charlo now sounding this smart and mature given his previous 'bad boy' antics, not to mention also an undisputed champion with no mental health issues about to take on Undisputed Canelo. Always thought of his brother would be that guy. Not same mental strength I guess.

Glad to know he's "growing" as a Man! If you're still the same person as you were 8 years ago, and you're under 50, YOU'RE F-K'D!

              WHEN did he do that???

He is a delusional duck along with his 'twin brother' and every other PBC so called diva champion.

Jermell sounds like he's grown up. He's right , there's no need to act crazy to sell this fight.

It's amazing how acting ignorant is considered "selling a fight"... that should be Activity and Styles job, not your mouth, especially in a sport where fist are thrown to determine the winner.

I promise: nobody ever bought a PPV because you disrespected or pushed your opponent.
