I think it will be a good lecture for Luis to talk to Pacquiao about how losing makes you a better man. Luis has close to 100 fights and his win and lost ratio is 50/50. Definately, wise words will be exchanged between the two for the good of both men in overcoming fear.

Even though Luis Castillo had tremendous loses in his life i respect him for bouncing back into fighting and helping others who may need guidance for an important up coming fight.

True. He's as tall as Cotto, or taller, plus he's been at WW for what, his last 4 or 5 fights?

Roach chose Jose Luis Castillo to emulate shot fighters like Cotto. Is that hard to understand?

Making the old De La Hoya dry down till 147 and Oscar was not even close to his best year in 147 . Example when he fougth Trinidad. And you guys think he pick the best champ in 135 fighting with Diaz . Why he didn't pick Nate Campbell or Juan Diaz ? but not, he pick David Diaz. Them he pick Hatton. The easy one in 140. Why he didn't pick Timothy Bradley ? Now hte's gonna fight Cotto. But guess what ? In a weight catch at 145. Why if he already fight Oscar in 147 dont fight with Cotto in that weigh. Not but he wants Cotto a little dehydrate. But guess something . Cotto is 28 and have power and speed. And also a good defense. Let see what happen in Nov 14.

I think it's a good choice. Castillo is done but he can still go hard to the body, apply pressure, and i'm banking he'd still be physically stronger then Manny, and easily a bigger man. It's sparring, plus Jose still has a good chin, the only time he's been stopped to the head he was still on his feet vs Diego. The stoppages he had early in his career were all on bad cuts, and the Hatton loss was, quite honestly a great bodyshot. I say Jose is still durable enough to get in there and give Manny good work in sparring.

for sure will be a great help for Team Pacquiao. I doubt they will ask him to be Manny sparmate they see nothing they can use from Castillo..

Could help some, he can emulate Cotto's style to a degree. His size and age prevents it from being a perfect match however.

JLC is/was a very good body puncher and a good pressure fighter to boot, even though his skills may have declined a little, it is just sparring...

manny may learn something new on how to deal with good pressure fighters with very good body punching
