I do think Canelo is a great fighter. But, I think he's contradicting himself with this comment. He recently said that if he fought a Crawford who came up to 168 pounds, he wouldn't gain anything from it just like Bud wouldn't gain anything from fighting a Tank that is coming up in weight. Isn't that exactly what Canelo is doing with Charlo? Fighting a fighter that is coming up in weight? By his logic doesn't this mean that he won't gain anything from this likely victory? It's a good fight and I'm intrigued more so because of Charlo's willingness to chase greatness. But a victory by Canelo won't be as significant as a victory against a full fledged 168 pounder would be.

come on Canelo. Don't turn into Oscar! Saying this fighting the 154 champ at 168 makes Canelo look insecure.. This is like the world cup Messi thing, not a good sign of what's to come.

Act like the Bivol fight never happened and life will remind you of the beat down until you self destruct like Oscar. When you are truly great the world says it you!

Charlo is not likely to "run". It should be a good fight. Both Canelo and Jermell have power and like to mix it up. As for Bivol, he is a bridge to far at 175 for Canelo. If they fought at 168 people would biitch and moaan that he weight drained Bivol.

i dont know about that... and when i say "run", im talking more defensive. and no, if canelo fought and beat bivol at 168, i will give him the full credit since bivol is also asking for the rematch to be at 168 so if bivol loses, there is no room for excuses about weight draining.

The barbs about Canelo weight-draining Bivol at 168 have appeared on various sites and have commentary by the usual suspects. The reality is that Canelo will be criticized no matter what he does. Ragging on Canelo has become an easy attention-getter, not to mention a lucrative money-making cottage industry for many UTubers.

The word 'Benavidez' is still banned during Canelo interviews

You can join them hand in hand then since you'll be doing that regardless.

I'm really thinking that its going to backfire on Cinnabon once he sees the speed, tenacity, skills, and power of Jermell. I really think that Charlo isn't just taking the payday, but wants to get that chip he's always carried off of his shoulder, and grab something that no one can ever take away.
