I do think Canelo is a great fighter. But, I think he's contradicting himself with this comment. He recently said that if he fought a Crawford who came up to 168 pounds, he wouldn't gain anything from it just like Bud wouldn't gain anything from fighting a Tank that is coming up in weight. Isn't that exactly what Canelo is doing with Charlo? Fighting a fighter that is coming up in weight? By his logic doesn't this mean that he won't gain anything from this likely victory? It's a good fight and I'm intrigued more so because of Charlo's willingness to chase greatness. But a victory by Canelo won't be as significant as a victory against a full fledged 168 pounder would be.

See, this is among one of the many things that makes Canelo unlikeable. The guy flat out ducked a real threat in his division to fight someone two weight classes below him where he’s a significant favorite, and thinks a win makes him a king? That’s clown shyt.

I'm really thinking that its going to backfire on Cinnabon once he sees the speed, tenacity, skills, and power of Jermell. I really think that Charlo isn't just taking the payday, but wants to get that chip he's always carried off of his shoulder, and grab something that no one can ever take away.
