Comments Thread For: Yordenis Ugas: "I Believe I'm Still One Of The Best Welterweights In The World"

It was a feel-good story but one that many didn't believe would end well for Yordenis Ugas. The Cuban native was going about his business and preparing to defend his WBA welterweight title in what appeared to be a tune-up fight against Fabian Maidana in 2021. But, out of nowhere, Manny Pacquiao gave him a call with an opportunity of a lifetime.

Ugas is a really genuinely good dude. I hope that he does win another title.

Well I mean he's right. It's a shlt division. Thurman might not come back, Spencer, ortiz and Crawford are moving up. Booty ennis is probably the only live body and he's ass

Ugas is a damn good fighter. Should have gotten the win against Porter and beat Pacquiao pretty easily.

Delusional. They fight once a year and they still have nerve to say things like this. These folks keep insulting fans. Seems this inactivity thing has become as normal as night and day. They're not even bothered by it.

Ugas was always impressive but like all the older Cubans, I wonder if I need to add ten years to his age. And he's getting older. He's just a guy fighting Barrios now, and I don't know who's the A side.

I guess in some way this works but the word looks weird as opposed to transitory. Transient is often associated with homelessness. It stopped me from reading further because it didnt flow and I had to look it up to see if it was improper usage. I haven't seen this word used like that and it threw me off. I'm not really the grammar guy otherwise. If you misspell or make up words like speedfull, I wouldn't even care.
I would have used "short-lived" or "temporary." I have rented a small apartment for a period of one week many years past and I referred to myself as "transient" as differentiated from other dwellers. So I know the word and I understand what it can mean in other contexts.

Yeah I deleted my comment b4 I saw yours but since its back, I looked it up and unless there's some proper tense Im unaware of, it seems to be correct, but hardly ever used like that, and I couldnt get past it easy. I couldnt care less about spelling and slang, but when I cant tell if somethings correct or not I get ruffled. I like your recommendations better than transient.
