Just like he knew what was up when he said that he thought De La Hoya would beat Manny?

Oscar had Paquiao's number because according to, who else?....Tadaaaaaa, Nacho....Oscar was coming faster, stronger and with better skills. You know Nacho, the more you talk, the more you remind me that you don't know **** from shinola. But, hey....He's Nacho.

You guys really need to stope being so defensive. Cotto is the under dogg for a reason. People think Pacquiao is the better fighter.

Cotto is the underdog based on two of his last three fights...one against a cheater, and the other to a guy who has a similar style to the cheater while dealing with a cut. There is nothing in Pacquiao's last three fights that make me believe that he could be favored even slightly except for the weight that the fight is at.

That is exactly the point...if he didn't think De La Hoya would win, why would he agree to train him. He also said that Marquez's speed would give Mayweather problems. We all see how that worked out as well. His opinion on the fight is as good as anyone's on this forums imo.

most of that is true, but if the trainer starts saying that his fighter has no chance then either you get fired or the fighter forfeits the fight. It's in the trainers financial interest to say good things about his fighter. Unless he has money in the Pac fight, I'd say he's clearly just giving his analysis.

I agree...I'm just saying that the people who are taking what Beristain is saying as significant should form their own opinion based on what they've seen.

I saw this interview, it was the main feature of a show on ESPN Deportes called "Golpe a Golpe". Now there is no denying that Nacho Beristsain is one of the most acomplished trainers in boxing (16 world champions if I'm not mistaken). And his take on Pacquiao comes from first hand experience, but I think that he underestimates Cotto's power. It will be interesting to see the effect it has on Pacquiao come fight night.
