The American cable network confirmed its stateside coverage of Tszyu's upcoming WBO junior middleweight title defense versus streaking contender Brian Mendoza. The previously announced bout will headline a Showtime Boxing International show on October 14 from Gold Coast Convention Centre in Broadbeach, Australia (October 15, locally).

The fact that Mendoza had lost every round to Fundora until he knocked him out doesn't bode well against Tszyu. Tszyu's defence is underrated, lightening would have to strike twice for Mendoza because he'll definitely be behind on the cards.

dont say that too loud they might think they can sell it as a PPV and all of the sudden somebody gets hurt and bam it is the undercard of some other inflated PPV card being passed around. but yea interesting fight be nice if they would have put this and the Ramos v Lubin bout in this card and that would have been a nice Showtime regular card for the fight fans. Everybody talks match ups but how they show the fight means as much as where they are fighting.
